Change of Address

It’s the tail-end of PCS season for most people, but even after the road trip is over there is still so much to do.

Don’t let moving bring you down! It can get stressful with everything you have to do to get life back in order.

One of the many tasks involved with moving is remembering all the places, physical and online, to change your address.

Keep this list with you and check off when you are finished with each place. This is my go-to list to keep me organized with changing my address each time I move. This list may be different for you depending on the state you claim as home, so check off what applies specifically to you. My list includes:

  • Post Office
  • Driver’s License (DMV)
  • Car insurance
  • Tags and titles for the car(s)
  • Bank accounts
  • Credit cards
  • Debit cards
  • Loans
  • Utility companies
  • Online subscriptions
  • Online shipping address for websites like Amazon, etc.
  • Magazine subscriptions
  • You might even want to send a friendly email or letter to friends and family to let them know about your address change

Keep in mind that though most of these places have online options to turn in a change-of-address, there may be some that require physically signing papers. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to do that.

Do you have other suggestions for places to remember?
