As I write this I am sitting at a local coffee shop sipping on a White Chocolate Pumpkin Mocha… because it’s fall and it has me in all the feels. I am attempting a refresh and all these cozy fall vibes reminded me of a beautiful quote by Ruth Ahmed as she watched the Autumn leaves fall and change color and said:

You Sacrifice Too

I remember the first time a kind woman came up to my husband in uniform and thanked him for his service and sacrifice, and then turned to thank me too. We were in our second year of marriage, and I hadn’t yet heard that from a stranger. I was caught off guard – – taken aback that someone would turn to recognize me, just a normal woman standing by her serviceman’s side. I felt very undeserving.

I wasn’t the one in uniform.

I wasn’t the one sacrificing.

I wasn’t the one serving.

Ways to Celebrate Military Spouse Appreciation Day

May is Military Appreciation Month but did you know that Friday, May 6th is Military Spouse Appreciation Day?  The first Friday in May before Mother’s Day, was first known as Military Spouse Appreciation Day after being recognized by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. Recognitions and celebrations are typically held throughout military communities in the United States and Abroad.
